Welcome!

Sit right down with me for a good Cuppa Light! A Cuppa Light is Java for your whole being! Most of us begin our day with some morning rituals including grabbing a cuppa something to get our physical bodies going. I wanted inspiration for my spirit and mind as well. I found that if I sincerely needed uplifting moments, they would come.
They came in dreams, something I’d observe, emails people sent, or things they would say. I’d read a book, and there was a quotation or passage that lifted or helped me know the right thing to do. I learned how to recognize, and work with the different parts of myself, and how to help others do it as well. I created this website as an inspirational place, A Cuppa Light for your whole being. If you're in a hurry just read the blog below or click on "A Little Cuppa". Maybe one will be just right for you!  Invite your friends to come recharge with a good cuppa light.
Add your flavor to the Cuppa via the guestbook below. Share something that inspires you, and write about it in the guestbook. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Enjoy!

Patience

For those who have been following this site, I thank you for your patience. You have observed that some days there are no blogs, and then the publication of the 19th was published 5 times! I have had some more difficulty with my server, but hope once again that we’re back on track.

I am about to engage in a life altering activity, On Tuesday the 28th, I will begin a new special education teaching position at an elementary school 25 miles from my home! I will have pre-school age children. Now this is dusting off an old professional hat, but I did raise a special needs daughter who embodied several “special ed.” categories. I will be working with another regular education teacher, an educational assistant, and the physical, occupational, and language therapists if the children need them.  And of course we will love and honor all of the school staff.

All that being said, I know that my real job is to truly see these children entrusted to me as God’s perfect loving thoughts, and always give them the love and respect that they deserve. Most likely there will be challenging moments, but I know how important my vision is. Patience will be my ally. My daughter, Mary, was in a special pre-school class, and she always felt terrific about herself. She had many difficulties, but her teachers met them with joy, love, and encouragement, and Mary continued with that attitude of “I’m O.K.” the rest of her life. My goal is that all of my new “kids” will have that wonderful attitude. After all, we’re all “special”. We call it unique, talented, individual, distinctive…. You get the idea. I hope to learn from these individuals a new way to see things. You can teach an old dog new tricks! I trust that I will be able to teach them ways that they can learn what they choose to learn in this world. Prayers, peaceful and joyous thoughts are most welcome! And I beam them to you as well.

A Pilgrimage of Compassion

In just a few hours I will be serving as a hostess at the Lawai International Center’s ninth annual Pilgrimage of compassion. The Lawai International Center [www.lawaicenter.org] is a sacred place on the south side of Kaua’i. Ancient Hawaiians recognized its healing energy, and named it “Lawai” the giver of water. They constructed a worship site, to take advantage of the energies present. They built a stone heiau. Over the years there was then a Taoist temple, and over 100 years ago Shingon Buddhist Japanese immigrants who worked at a nearby plantation built 88 miniature shrines  by hand to duplicate their sacred homeland area.

In Skikoku, Japan a pilgrimage is made going to 88 shrines that cover an area of about 900 miles.  Sand or dirt was taken from the original shrines, and buried beneath the 88 in Lawai. By the late 1960’s, the shrines and temple route had fallen into disrepair. However, one woman, Grandma Nonaka continued to go every month. She held the presence of sacredness there. When 4 of her sons fought in American wars, she would place soil from under each shrine in a bag and give it to them. All four sons returned, and the soil was replaced. The shrines have been restored, and it is now a non-denominational place of peace, healing and aloha open to all.

One can visit the shrines on the second and last Sunday of the month or
by appointment, but once a year there is a pilgrimage of compassion. The public is invited to make a meditative walk for peace, compassion and healing as Grand Master Riley Lee accompanies each step of the journey playing the Shakuhachi (Japanese Flute).

In our lives it is beneficial to take time to join with others for compassion and peace. Joining with a group for a similar reason makes it easier for everyone, as a group thought form filled with the vibration of the event is formed. We hear about mob consciousness, but we can also join to elevate ourselves. Also, a pilgrimage of compassion can be taken within the heart, without taking a single footstep. Peace to you, always.

A Song for You
I joined a women’s singing group a month ago that brings me great joy. Founding director, Ronda Rice, has collected empowerment rounds, chants and songs from all over the world to uplift and empower women, which in turn uplifts us all. That in itself is terrific. Now add that to the fact that there are a group of women who want to sing these songs, who believe in women and the power they have to make a cultural difference and it gets juicy. Add to that the beauty of a cappella (no musical accompaniment) voices singing in three to five part harmonies, and we’re talking heaven on earth.

Ronda walks her talk. She believes in love, peace, our holiness and oneness. We feel it too, and we sing it to the world in a sweet little home by the ocean. Last Monday we sang a song, and Ronda suggested that we sing it to each other. As we sang it, we reached out to each other. The circle of women standing became a circle of women holding each other at the waist, singing and smiling these empowerment words to each other. Just imagine a beautiful chorus singing them to you.

How Could Anyone    by Libby Roderick

How could anyone ever tell you,
You were anything less than beautiful.
How could anyone ever tell you,
You were less than whole.
How could anyone fail to notice,
That your loving is a miracle.
How deeply you’re connected to my soul.

The Reality As You Know It Does Not Exist

Hi Loves,

In Kaua’i, Richard Diamond is the editor/coordinator of “The Kaua’i Museletter”. While I know folks from all branches of life who read it, it seems to offer information of special interest to the “expanded Self” reader. I just don’t know how to describe folks who know that we are more than our brains and hearts and what many  traditional religions teach that we are.

In today’s Museletter there was a link to a 10 minute You Tube video that scientifically and spiritually explains what I have been blogging about; how this world is an illusion, and each person creates his/her own reality. It is not for people who want to blame others for their problems. It is for people who want to take responsibility in creating the reality they want to live in, because we can.

Most people will think that it is way far out on a limb, but then I would like to suggest that our little spinning Earth itself is way far out on a Universal limb, and each person is less than 1 six billionth of the humans on it, and there are a vast number of galaxies being created as the universe expands at a rate of something line a million light years a day…..

I don’t trust the process of copying and pasting the link. I suggest that you go to YouTube.com, and in the search put in: The Reality As You Know It Does Not Exist

I suggest that you do not consume mind altering substances before you read it. Just listen with an open mind. Perhaps something will click. If not, press delete. Beloved will find you another way.

Great happiness to all,
Annaleah
