Welcome!

Sit right down with me for a good Cuppa Light! A Cuppa Light is Java for your whole being! Most of us begin our day with some morning rituals including grabbing a cuppa something to get our physical bodies going. I wanted inspiration for my spirit and mind as well. I found that if I sincerely needed uplifting moments, they would come.
They came in dreams, something I’d observe, emails people sent, or things they would say. I’d read a book, and there was a quotation or passage that lifted or helped me know the right thing to do. I learned how to recognize, and work with the different parts of myself, and how to help others do it as well. I created this website as an inspirational place, A Cuppa Light for your whole being. If you're in a hurry just read the blog below or click on "A Little Cuppa". Maybe one will be just right for you!  Invite your friends to come recharge with a good cuppa light.
Add your flavor to the Cuppa via the guestbook below. Share something that inspires you, and write about it in the guestbook. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Enjoy!

It's a real "nowhere" man...

Aloha Family I mostly haven't met yet!

My lesson 289 in  "A Course in Miracles" today just made something blindingly clear. It’s entitled “The past is over. It can touch me not.” Thousands of times we hear that the past is gone, over, done, and has no value to us any more after the lesson has been processed. It is only our egos that replay the tapes over and over, perhaps to glorify ourselves, or vindicate ourselves, or to make someone else be our projected bad guy.  It’s basically a waste of time.

I’ve read this lesson before, but this time in the passage a certain word jumped out at me. “Unless the past is over in my mind, the real world must escape my sight. For I am really looking nowhere; seeing but what is not there.” I think it was the word "nowhere". Looking “nowhere” seems completely futile.  It is a waste of time to look nowhere. I believe it's hard not to revisit the past because I consider it my “somewhere”.  I lived it, although psychologists tell us that memory is selective, and begins to actually change things even after 24 hours…. So it really is nowhere.  Even my own mind might not be reliable.

What becomes significant, is that if I’m busy visiting “nowhere”, I can’t be here, and here is where I need to be if I truly want the connection, abundance, love, and peace that I claim to want. These conditions are nourished by Spirit, which is HERE!  I can’t be attracting love in my life if I’m reviewing love gone wrong! If I’m spending time opening my heart to Spirit, my True Spirit Self is being nourished. I know I feel loved and peaceful  when I do it. It spills into my ego self, and helps create the loving world I want.  And you’ll become more sensitive when you fall away from this wonderful feeling.

I’m going somewhere now, to my wonderful heiau, Hau’ola, to meet my Hawaiian teacher. When two are joined there is power for healing and love is extended. AAAALLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHAAAAAAA!

Remembering Oneness

Aloha Dear Ones! I have returned from NY. My mother improved daily. While there, I closed on my son’s house sale, and he took the small remaining overage, rented a U-Haul truck, packed his things, and he and his girlfriend moved to Virginia Beach. It is nice when someone gives you a second chance, isn’t it? We can do that with ourselves also.

Yesterday my husband Joshua and I had the privilege of having brunch with friends in Princeville who are long time students of “A Course in Miracles”. Two of them, Tom and Linda Carpenter are very well known, as they have collaborated on two books lovingly exploring the teachings: “Awaken from the Dream”, and the newly revised one, “The Miracle of Real Forgiveness, Freeing Us to Love”.

There were 13 of us there. Five of them had recently taken a cruise to Alaska, to enjoy and study the Course with several others. The last day they achieved a place of fullness, joy, gratitude, peace and undefendedness. They became open to each other, with no defenses. In other words, as they spent time with each other, they put their egos aside, and were totally open without judgment to each other. They let their True, or holy selves connect, and all were affected by it. Words fell away, and they experienced the state of peace mentioned above.

Not knowing about this occurrence, I had sat with three of them at brunch, and near the end of our meal, I felt this state. I had no words to say. I just felt very peaceful, happy… full. I’m venturing to say, that once the state has been reached, it is easier to recall it, and it extends to others who have a willingness to experience the Peace of God. I received the benefit of their extended love.

This group meets twice a month, and several others will join us. We have agreed to spend some time in each meeting in that silence where we are totally undefended, and open to the Oneness of God in each other, ourselves, and the Beloved.  Ain't it grand! Let the Miracles flow to all!
