Welcome!

Sit right down with me for a good Cuppa Light! A Cuppa Light is Java for your whole being! Most of us begin our day with some morning rituals including grabbing a cuppa something to get our physical bodies going. I wanted inspiration for my spirit and mind as well. I found that if I sincerely needed uplifting moments, they would come.
They came in dreams, something I’d observe, emails people sent, or things they would say. I’d read a book, and there was a quotation or passage that lifted or helped me know the right thing to do. I learned how to recognize, and work with the different parts of myself, and how to help others do it as well. I created this website as an inspirational place, A Cuppa Light for your whole being. If you're in a hurry just read the blog below or click on "A Little Cuppa". Maybe one will be just right for you!  Invite your friends to come recharge with a good cuppa light.
Add your flavor to the Cuppa via the guestbook below. Share something that inspires you, and write about it in the guestbook. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Enjoy!

The Solstice

What does the solstice mean? Whatever we want it to. "A Course in Miracles" tells us that we give everything we want to see all the meaning that it has for us. [underscore that] Probably you are getting emails about what people think the solstice means. What do you want to have happen? Let’s see: a winter solstice indicates either the shortest day of light, or the beginning of the return of light. I’m just doing this for me, but I’ll choose “a return of the light”.

Now what I choose to see in the world can only be what I project from my own mind. Which means that I want more Light in my mind. I am studying with a group of people very committed to allowing in more love, and remembering that what isn’t love, isn’t real. It’s nuts as far as the world thinks, but as I do it more and more, my life gets easier and easier.

I find that when things go sour, rather than try immediately to fix it. I ask the Holy Spirit to get involved, and help me see it as Love would see it. I’ll send my love to the parties involved, and see them as my perfect brothers or sisters. I give the Holy Spirit the job of sorting it out for me, and it’s as if an immediate weight is lifted from my heart. Then I become acutely aware of any inspirations I get that would make me feel peaceful if I did them. The answer comes. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, but sometimes it’s a few days. That’s O.K. It’s worth waiting for.

Here’s an example. A rumor went around that my co-teacher didn’t like working with me. It always seemed like we had fun in the classroom, so I asked her if it was true. She said that she did like working with me. I thought that was the end. Then the “powers that be” were going to split up our classroom. I wanted to get to the bottom of this, because I don’t like being falsely accused. I did send out an email asking what was up, but then just gave it up to Holy Spirit. Within a few days, about 4 supervisors or resource teachers came to our room, and everyone just saw that we got along well, and our kids were doing well. No planning on my part...no attacks, no problems. We just continued to love our kids, and the others.  Our fun spread to them. The end.  This story could have had quite a different ending. People go to all sorts of lengths to prove they are right, and others are wrong. You must know stories of that occurring. Well, try calming your ego down and inviting Holy Spirit in. You be the scientist here. What happens will reinforce you to continue doing it. The vibration is increasing to make it easier, as more and more people are doing it. Happy solstice!

From the Woman who Runs with the Wolves

Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes has inspired me for over a decade. She is most recognized in my circles as the author of “Women who Run with the Wolves”, and is a wise woman, and therapist. Here is a quotation someone just sent me, that triggered a wonderful inner experience. May it do so for you as well. It's not just for women.

"One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these - to be fierce and to show mercy toward others, both, are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity. Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do.

There will always be times when you feel discouraged. I too have felt despair many times in my life, but I do not keep a chair for it; I will not entertain it. It is not allowed to eat from my plate. The reason is this: In my uttermost bones I know something, as do you. It is that there can be no despair when you remember why you came to Earth, who you serve, and who sent you here. The good words we say and the good deeds we do are not ours: They are the words and deeds of the One who brought us here. In that spirit, I hope you will write this on your wall:

When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But that is not what great ships are built for.

This comes with much love and a prayer that you remember who you came from, and why you came to this beautiful, needful Earth."

"Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times." What an image! God bless us everyone!
